BRISTOL, Va.Brittni Altmann had 36 assists and Kelsey Griffitts recorded 25 kills to lead the Trojans (7-1, 2-1) past the Pioneers 25-13, 25-23, 25-14 for a Clinch Mountain District win in Bristol, Va.
Ashley Bryant chipped in with six kills and eight digs, while Abbey Davis had 13 service points.

Powell Valley 3, Castlewood 1
Tasha Trent’s 23-kill, 15-dig performance highlighted Powell Valley’s 19-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-20 non-district road win.
Haley Gilbert led Castlewood with nine kills and eight service points, while Brittany Osborne (nine digs) and Alli Ring (seven blocks) also played well.

Carroll County 3, Marion 1
Maleah Neely had 10 kills and two blocks to lead the Cavaliers past the Scarlet Hurricanes 25-14, 25-14, 20-25, 25-15 at Marion, Va.
Marion’s (3-6) Elizabeth Rakes recorded seven blocks and Talong Diggs had 11 digs in a losing effort.

Patrick Henry 3, Twin Valley 1
Kelsey Weddle recorded 17 kills and Cadence Wilmoth added 13 more as the Rebels (6-1) took care of the Panthers (3-3) 21-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-17 in a non-district game in Pilgrim’s Knob, Va.

Clintwood 3, Kelly 0
Michaela Conley had 17 assists and Taylor Stanley recorded 11 kills as the Greenwave handed the Indians a loss in their Lonesome Pine District opener, 25-14, 25-22, 25-13, at Wise, Va.
Kelly (2-5, 0-1) was led by Ashley Mullins’ seven kills and Courtney Brooks 14 assists.

Rural Retreat 3, Grayson Co. 0
Laura Stamper recorded nine aces to lead the Lady Indians to a 25-13, 25-8, 25-8 victory over Grayson County in Rural Retreat, Va.
Rural Retreat’s (7-2) Jenna Dix added 14 kills, while Erin Worrell had 12 assists.
The Lady Indians’ junior varsity team won over Grayson County 25-12 and 25-22.

Abingdon 3, Richlands 0
In Richlands, the Falcons took care of the Blue Tornado in three games, 25-20, 25-18, 25-14, to win a Southwest District match.

Providence JV 3, TACA 2
The Tennessee Avenue Christian Academy Crusaders pushed the Providence Academy junior varsity to five games, before falling.
Providence won by scores of 25-20, 18-25, 26-24, 17-25, 15-10.

COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL
Milligan 3, Va. Intermont 0
Former Tennessee High star Kalyn Perrigan had 10 kills in a return to Bristol and Milligan College posted a 25-21, 25-19, 25-18 road win over Virginia Intermont on Thursday.
The loss overshadowed a strong performance by VI freshman Brandi Blessing. The former George Wythe High School star had 19 digs, 10 kills and a service aces.
Kaitlin Crutchley (nine kills) also played well for VI (1-9, 0-5).
