CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The University of Virginia’s College at Wise erased a 17-point halftime deficit in rallying for a 32-31 Mid-South Conference victory over Campbellsville (Ky.) University on Saturday afternoon.
UVa.-Wise (4-3) trailed 31-14 at the half, but quarterback Brad Robbins led the Highland Cavaliers’ comeback. Robbins threw two touchdown passes to Jason Lovett in the third
quarter and then found Matt Barbour from 11-yards out with 4:22 left in the third to put the Cavs ahead for good.
UVa.-Wise defensive lineman Danny Hinkle, who finished with seven tackles, sealed the win by blocking a Campbellsville field goal attempt with 44 seconds left.
Robbins was 21-of-37 for 364 yards through the air with five touchdowns and two interceptions. Lovett had nine receptions for 175 yards and four scores. He and Robbins hooked up for scores of 19, 32, 18 and 42 yards.
Aric Evans added 106 receiving yards in the win. Amondre Johnson led the Wise defense with nine tackles, whole Josh Weaver added eight stops.
Campbellsville (3-3) finished with 437 yards of total offense, but failed to reach the end zone in the second half.
UVa.-Wise hosts Cumberland (Tenn.) University next Saturday.
