Friday practice at Bristol Motor Speedway has claimed two so far today - and both in turn 4.
Michael Waltrip, practicing in the #55 NAPA Toyota, crashed first as he pulled out of turn 4, leaving him with both front and rear damage to his primary ride. It appeared Waltrip got sideways while trying to catch up to teammates, almost saved it and then smashed into the outer wall. His crash left the back of the car torn away. Waltrip will now go to a backup car for qualifying.
About an hour later, Mike Harmon, driving the #84 Chevy, smashed into the turn 4 wall while practicing for the Nationwide series. After crashing, Harmon's car slid down the track and hit the outer wall at the pit entrance.
Practice is continuing.
