Kevin Tiggs scored 37 points and Mike
Smith notched a double-double to lead East Tennessee State in a
90-76 win over Stetson on Wednesday night in the first round of the
Atlantic Sun Conference tournament.
Smith scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the
Buccaneers (21-10), who finished second in the conference after
winning three of their last four regular-season games. ETSU has won
three straight overall.
Courtney Pigram chipped in 15 points and five assists.
A.J. Smith paced the Hatters (13-17) with 24 points and Tim Lang
also recorded a double-double, scoring 18 points and pulling down
12 boards. He also tallied four blocks. Mark Lohuis added 11 points
and Garfield Blair had 10 for Stetson, which ended its season on a
five-game losing skid.
The Buccaneers led by four at the break, but outscored the
Hatters 53-43 in the second.
