Siarre Evans (Griffin, Ga.) powered her way through Atlantic Sun competition last week and for those efforts the junior guard/forward was tabbed Player of the Week for the second time this season (fourth of her career), announced Monday by the league office.

Evans enjoyed an outstanding week as she averaged 25.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.0 steals. In addition, Evans shot 46.2 percent from field, 42.9 from beyond the arc and 76.0 percent from the free throw line. After scoring 76 points against three conference foes, Evans moved her way up to 7th on the all-time Lady Buccaneer scoring charts, ending the regular season with 1,283 points.

Evans, the Atlantic Sun's leading scorer (16.7) and rebounder (10.3), began the week with a career night at USC Upstate on Monday. The junior preseason all-conference selection put her ETSU team on her back and rallied them to a 90-84 win – finishing with a career high 35 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Evans shot 11-for-21, while going 6-of-11 from beyond the arc (setting a new career best) and dished out five assists and forced two steals as well. Then, on Thursday night against Kennesaw State, Evans recorded her sixth straight double-double (16th of the season) after posting a game high 26 points and 12 rebounds, as well as dishing out three assists and forcing a career-tying six steals in the 73-66 win over the Owls. The Griffin, Ga. native finished the regular season with a 15-point, 8-rebound performance in the 90-79 loss to Mercer on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Bucs now carry the number one seed into this week’s Atlantic Sun Tournament, hosted at Lipscomb’s Allen Arena. ETSU awaits the winner of the #4 Mercer/#5 Stetson match-up and the Lady Bucs will play the first semifinal game on Friday at noon/1 p.m. (eastern).
