JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — For the second straight night, the Bristol White Sox turned in a sharp performance, and the end result was a 4-0 Appalachian League victory over the Johnson City Cardinals on Monday night at Cardinal Park.
Bristol starting pitcher Charles “Trey” Delk combined with two relievers on a eight-hit shutout. Delk (1-2, 3.46 ERA) scattered seven hits, did not issue a walk and recorded six strikeouts for the White Sox.
Kyle Bellamy followed with two perfect innings and Andre Rienzo worked a scoreless ninth inning.
Second baseman Daniel Wagner went 2-for-4 with a RBI for the BriSox (5-9) and is 6-for-9 in his last two games. Leighton Pangilinan added a home run in the victory.
It marked the first time Bristol has won consecutive games this season.
Richard Racobaldo led Johnson City with two hits.
Bristol closes out its three-game series at JC tonight.
