Each weekend, the former Tennessee High star comes up with a big performance for the Golden Eagles’ women’s cross country team.
However, Saturday was perhaps her most impressive accomplishment yet.
Place blitzed the field by 21 seconds in taking the women’s individual title at the Ohio Valley Conference championships in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Place completed the 5K course in 18 minutes, 16.7 seconds and improved on her third-place showing in last year’s conference meet.
The effort also earned her OVC runner of the year honors. Place will compete in the NCAA South Regionals on Nov. 15.
