Your campaign message in a nutshell: Common sense education and community motivation
Why are you running? I want to explore new ideas for issues facing our schools-- need for money, greater understanding of mental health needs for students, and to build school support that promotes a learning environment in which students succeed and live productive lives. I want to be a voice for our community.
What are the most significant issues facing the Washington County school system and your district? Community involvement and awareness, need for a connection to and being a voice for students, parents, school staff, and the community.
What will you do to help deal with the tight budget situation? Explore unique ideas for finding resources and options to lessen the burden of financial needs, find ways to use monies in productive and qualitative ways, use resources within the community
What else do you plan to do as a member of the school board? Support our community, support our youth ... to find ways to make schools successful for children, parents, staff, and community.
Why should voters choose you over your opponent? I have been a part of this community. I understand the wants and needs of the school system from being involved as a coach, a volunteer, and as a parent. I have been a supporter of Washington Co Schools for the past 9-years and continue to plan to be a part of the school. I have always striven to be a positive support within our school system. As a school board member, I would like to establish education goals that shape our community.
