Thanks for making Tour of Homes success

»  Comments | Post a Comment

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of support for the 15th annual Christmas Tour of Homes. East Hill Cemetery received $2301.00 from our event to help mow and maintain the burial grounds of Bristol’s citizens.

Homeowners Janet and Robert Carpenter, Jase and Sarah Slone, Emily Blackwell, Vincent J. Kinsler and Lynn and Angel Dougherty decorated their homes, sold tickets, and provided refreshments for all tour participants.

First Christian Church, the Rev. Herb and Evelyn Peak, graciously opened the church doors wide to warmly greet and welcome all who entered. Everyone expressed how beautiful the church sanctuary was and how kindly they were treated.

Bristol Virginia Utilities, the Bristol Chamber of Commerce, Believe in Bristol (Christine Blevins), TV 5, Bristol Herald Courier, Tim Buchanan and others did a wonderful job of helping us with publicity. Elizabeth Marshall once again proved what an amazing designer she is by decorating the Kinsler home so beautifully. Lisa Morton lent her decorating expertise to some of the homes and worked as a home volunteer. Carolyn Thomas was instrumental in acquiring the homes that we showcased this year.

Bud Phillips was very supportive of our tour and provided historical information on some of the homes. I would also like to thank Barbara Barker, Diana Combo, Kim Marshall, Missy Harper and Gloria Scott for their tremendous help.

Tickets were sold by Grand Antiques, Cranberry Lane, State Street Sweets and Eats, Country Gallery Florist, and One of A Kind Art Gallery. We deeply appreciate their efforts in supporting this worthy event. Premier Printing did an amazing job printing our fliers and tickets at no cost to us.

When I moved here from Alaska four years ago, I was a bit skeptical of the proclamation on the sign that said “Bristol a good place to live.” Everyone I encountered during the tour proved to me how very true those words are. I’m so proud to be a part of this community.
