The Weather Channel visits Wytheville

»  Comments | Post a Comment

As the first snow storm of the winter moved through, we at Storm Team 10 were not the only ones tracking the storm.

In fact, the entire nation got to see what was happening here in southwest Virginia on Sunday.

The Weather Channel sent Meteorologist Mike Seidel and his crew to Wytheville.

They reported live throughout the day for the cable network from Interstate 81.

Some Wythe County residents were interviewed live on national television while other were seen taking the dogs out for some catch in the snow and other sledding down a snowy hill.

I spoke to the assignment desk at The Weather Channel and they tell me that normally they would go for a big city where more people would be watching.

But for this storm there were no major cities in our region getting hit with a lot of snow, so they looked at the forecast and picked an area that was guaranteed to turn white.
