Maryland fugitive arrested in Johnson City

»  Comments | Post a Comment

On Wednesday, Feb. 15 Gary L Ireland, 48, was arrested by the Johnson City Police Department and charged with being a fugitive from justice for a crime in another state.

The arrest stems from a 911 call in reference to a fight in progress in the mobile home park at 3211 Mayfield Dr. During the investigation, officers made contact with Ireland and a warrant check was conducted through NCIC. The NCIC warrant check revealed that Ireland was wanted by the State of Maryland with full extradition on a parole violation. Washington County 911 received an NCIC confirmation response indicating that extradition from Tennessee was approved ,and that Ireland must be returned to the Maryland Department of Correction.

Ireland was then placed in custody for being a fugitive from justice for a crime in another state. He was then transported to the Washington County Detention Center without incident where he is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond pending a General Sessions Court appearance on Feb. 16  at 9 a.m.

This story is derived from a Johnson City Police Department report.
