Watauga County investigators looking for fire starter at old high school

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Watauga County North Carolina investigators are trying to figure out who started a fire at the county's old high school.

The Boone Police Department responded to the old Watauga County High School around 4:30 p.m. yesterday.  Sheriff Len Hagaman tells us the fire didn't do much damage to the old abandoned school, but the building is very dangerous and unsafe.

Anyone found inside the building will be arrested.  Just like these three men found out.  Zion Greenfield, John Leader and Matthew Redmond were charged with felony breaking and entering and burning of a public building.

Based on the investigation the Watauga County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation do not believe that this incident is related to yesterday's fire at the school.
