The Marion Police Department has located a man reported as missing.
David L. Ward, 52, of East Orange St. walked away from his niece’s home on Monday, Jan. 9. Ward left with only the clothes he was wearing and a few dollars in change.
Ward was located on Sunday, Feb. 12 at a local restaurant. He said that he had been visiting friends up north.
“We appreciate the assistance of the public and the media,” said Michael Roberts, Chief of Police. “There were a lot of good leads, and we were confident by the tips we received that he was safe two days after his disappearance. We continued the investigation until we located him. The community came together for a story with a happy ending.”
