Millions of people are affected by AIDS, and ETSU is hoping to bring awareness to the issue with a world famous quilt.
Student organizations joined together to get four pieces of the 44 thousand panel quilt displayed on campus for world aids week.
Another special thing about the parts of the quilt that were randomly selected to come to ETSU-- Ryan White's patchwork is on it. White who was a hemophiliac child made national headlines with his diagnosis and death and showed that AIDS can affect anyone.
“I’ve never seen the quilt and that's something that I've always wanted to see, to be touched by that experience and I thought ETSU should be educated and they should be touched by this,” said Sara Warfield, a senior at ETSU who helped organize getting the quilt to ETSU.
The four panels of the quilt will be on display in the Culp Center at ETSU until 8 p.m. Tuesday and again from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
