Elizabethton woman arrested for stealing non-narcotics from Sycamore Shoals Hospital

On Saturday, Aug. 20 the Elizabethton Police Department began an investigation into stolen medication from Sycamore Shoals Hospital Emergency Room, 1501 West Elk Ave. 

In the initial report the complainant stated someone had removed various drugs from two crash carts located in room number 1 sometime on Friday Aug. 19 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m..  The complainant also said all the drugs taken from the cart are non-narcotic but could be potentially dangerous if someone were to take them. 

During the investigation Nakia Shipley, 30, was identified as a suspect.  As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, Sept. 15 a warrant was issued for the arrest of Shipley charging her with theft of property under $50o.  Her bond was set at $250.

On Monday Nov. 8 Elizabethton Police Department Captain Greg Workman served Shipley with the outstanding warrant.  Her Carter County General Sessions Court date was set for Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 9 a.m.
