A family separated by more than five decades reunited today.

11Connects recently brought you the story of Alvin Miller Sr.

His children from a second marriage, helped him use facebook to track down his son, Alvin Miller Jr.

He left the area with his mother while miller senior was still in the Navy.

Both father and son spent the last 57 years apart, but today they were reunited.

Both father and son were in tears as they saw each other for the first time in almost six decades.

The reunion took place at the Maple Grove Restaurant in Unicoi.

Alvin Miller Jr. also got to hug his brother for the first time, and hold his father for the first time, since he was six years old.

It seems that Miller Jr. had tried to find his family ever since 1964, and at times during that search, he was only a few miles from them.

The Miller Family plans to spend the next few days catching up.

Alvin Miller Sr. says that today's reunion is the answer to over fifty years worth of prayers.
