Golf professional, and recent recipient of Golfweek Magazine’s Father of the Year award, Cliff Kresge, announces his Third Annual Kresge’s Krew Foundation Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament in Kingsport, Tenn.

The Charity Pro-Am is scheduled for September 11-12, 2011.  Sunday night will feature a reception and entertainment by Edwin McCain at Meadowview Marriott Conference Resort and Convention Center.  The Pro-Am Golf Tournament will be held on Monday at The Club at Ridgefields, with PGA Tour professionals in attendance. Early commitments to play include PGA professionals: Ernie Els, Tommy “2 Gloves” Gainey, Will McKenzie, Steve Marino, Matt Bettencourt, Chris Stroud, and Vaughn Taylor.

The Kresge's Krew Foundation was formed by Cliff and Judy Kresge, residents of Kingsport, with the primary focus being to stimulate a greater awareness of Autism and its growing presence in America. Cliff’s son, Mason, is living with Autism. One in less than every 100 children will be diagnosed with Autism in America and the Kresges’ hope is to continue to assist with the financial needs of those children and their families. The Foundation assists local, regional and national Autism Associations as well as individuals with special financial needs for their Autistic children.

Cliff is a former All-American golfer at the University of Central Florida and a tour professional for more than 10 years. He is a three-time Nationwide Tour event winner and is an active member of the Nationwide Tour with career winnings topping $3.5 million. Cliff was recently named Golfweek Magazine’s Father of the Year.  This award puts him in the company of other winners including Earl Woods, Billy Casper, and Jack Nicklaus.

The tournament will take place at The Club at Ridgefields. Legendary golf course architect Donald Ross designed the golf course at Ridgefields, which opened in June 1949.

The format of the tournament will be a modified select shot with one professional and four amateurs on each team.

Spectator tickets for the Pro-AM will be available at all Citizens Bank locations for $10 each.  Parking and shuttles will be provided from Domtar Park.  Sunday evening reception tickets are available for purchase by contacting Frank Lett at 423.392.8831 or by email at frank@kresgeskrew.com
