Prices at the pump are rising due to a rise in oil prices.

If you noticed prices going up at the gas pump, you're not alone.

What's triggering the rise?  Oil prices are back up.

The price of a barrel of light crude oil is trading at just above 100 dollars a barrel right now.

They shot up more than 2 percent  yesterday, after Iran threatened to choke off oil supplies flowing through the strait of Hormuz.  Iran is the number two OPEC producer.  Roughly a sixth of the world's oil moves through the Strait of Hormuz.
