Shots fired at this home in Greene County and the homeowner says one bullet came within inches of her head. It all happened on the 1900 block of Justice Road in the Afton community of Greene County.
"I was sitting right here and that's the actual bullet hole right here."
Just inches from April Potters head. She says, "I knew it was a gunshot, he was yelling at me get down, get down."
Potter and her husband say they were putting the final touches on their Christmas preparations late Friday night. "The wall behind my head kind of ended up in my hair."
Potter says three shots were fired, but the Greene County Sheriff's Department found just one .22 shotgun bullet shell inside Potter's home.
"It came through and the officer said it apparently hit the ceiling fan,” says Potter. “And then ended up over there next to the recliner."
And Potter says she doesn't know who may have fired the shots. “It was totally random from what we understand." Now Potter is just grateful the bullet came no closer to her head, but still in shock that this could happen to her.
She says, “You know its scary, somebody to be careless enough to just shoot at someone's home, you don't know, you could hit their child, anything."
Greene County Sheriff's Department also says within the same hour of these gunshots on Justice Road, another shot was reported on Davis Valley Road, just four miles away. Investigators say a man claims somebody in a white Cavalier shot a gun at him as they drove by, but deputies say they found no evidence of shots fired there.
There are no suspects at this time.
