Some Church Hill residents were shocked to discover flyers promoting the Ku Klux Klan littering their neighborhood streets this weekend.
Police say someone drove around late Saturday night, throwing flyers into driveways and yards.
When people opened the rolled-up pieces of paper, they found information on a KKK “Neighborhood Watch Project.”
Police say there is not a safety concern at this point.
"Some people don't have much of a life, and they just get caught up in certain things, and KKK happens to be one of them I guess for some people, and that's their right,” said Chief of Police Mark Johnson. “But when they start littering the streets, we'll prosecute them if at all possible."
Johnson says they have a lead on the vehicle that the flyers were thrown from. He says that the only crime committed so far is littering.
