Tuesday night, the Unicoi County Finance Committee voted on the property tax rate.
Here's a quick breakdown:
2009-2010 property tax rate: $2.375
2010-2011 property tax rate: $2.50 (first proposal), $2.44 (second proposal)
The compromised rate will go before the full commission on September 27th. Finance Committee Chairman Dr. Mickey Hatcher said he expects it to pass.
