Bristol Virginia Police Department

Sept. 3

n A middle-aged man with a “blue cap on his head” was at a Euclid Avenue fast-food restaurant “arguing with the manager over food” and “causing a disturbance.”

Sept. 4

n A “possibly intoxicated” man was at a Lee Highway gas station, “sleeping around back at the Dumpsters.”

n Somebody called from State Street at 8 a.m. to report a drunken man “sitting on the couch upstairs.”

n Four or five kids armed with BB guns were “playing and shooting in the parking lot” of a Mary Street apartment building.

n Two women and two men were “running up and down State Street screaming profanities.” The caller’s “only description” was that “one female has on a bra that her shirt didn’t cover.”

n A drunken man with a green checkered shirt and a red cap stumbled behind a Euclid Avenue drug store at 2 p.m., then “appeared to be passed out” in someone’s lawn behind the store. The man was arrested for public intoxication.

Bristol Tennessee Police Department

Aug. 27

  • A Sixth Street man told police that someone stole “four unknown brand tires and wheels from his back yard.” He said the tires were stacked up next to his house and worth about $700.
  • Police went to Tween Hills Road where a man reported that someone thieved the hood ornament off his Lincoln.
  • A Pennsylvania Avenue porno shop told police that a guy “entered the store and went to the pornographic movies, lingering in the area and then left.” As he walked out, the alarm went off “indicating that he had taken merchandise from the store.” The clerk “was unable to verify whether or not anything had been taken.”
  • Somebody reported that their cell phone was stolen during a pep rally at Tennessee High School.
  • When a guy had to scan his debit card more than once at a Volunteer Parkway fast-food restaurant, he “became upset” to the tune of “cursing the store clerk” and “causing a disturbance.”
  • The manager of a Volunteer Parkway restaurant called police to say “they believed a man had been in the women’s restroom taking pictures over the stalls.” He was a tall man, they said, who left the restaurant in a black Toyota with a covered tag.
  • Somebody was arrested for aggravated domestic assault when they “cut the victim’s left hand with a pocket knife.”

Aug. 28

  • A woman called the police when she got text messages “over her calling the police and they thought it was wrong.” She said she wanted the text messages “to stop.” Officers talked to the woman who sent the messages “and told her not to send any more.”
  • A Fifth Street couple got into a loud “argument over food.”

Aug. 29

  • Police went to Walmart “in reference to a nude male in a maroon van driving around the parking lot.” They didn’t find him.

Neighborhood Watch

  • The Fairmount Avenue Neighborhood Watch will meet at 2 p.m. today at 1211 Fairmount Avenue in Bristol, Va.
  • The Quail Ridge Neighborhood Watch will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ely Residence, 15126 Quail Ridge Way in Abingdon.
  • The Hurricane Neighborhood Watch will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hurricane Independent Missionary Baptist Church in Wise.
  • Anyone interested in starting a Neighborhood Watch in Bristol, Va., should contact Nicole Slagle, crime prevention specialist with the Bristol Virginia Police Department, at (276) 645-7281.
