Zach Birch is this week's Phil Bachman Toyota and 11 Connects Student of The Week. He's a junior at Sullivan South High School. Zach gets mostly A's and always strives to do his best in the classroom. History is one of Zach’s favorite subjects in School.
"I'm a great history buff, because I want to know where stuff happened, what happened on certain days, the events that happened, that's just very exciting and cool to me," said Birch.
Zach is also a member of the Sullivan South Jr. ROTC program. He said he’s always been interested in the military. Several people in his family have served in World War and other wars.
"When you see and you think about everything that goes on in this world and how great of a protection we are provided by the military, it's just something that I wanted to be a part of," Birch said.
Zach hopes to get a scholarship to a military school like the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.
He would like to join the Air Force or the Navy someday.
"It would mean a great deal, it's just so exciting for me to think that I can go through that and I can be a part of that," said Birch.
