Wellmont golf tournament to benefit CMS raises more than $130,000

 The Wellmont Health System Invitational Golf Tournament to benefit Children’s Miracle Network raised more than $130,000.

The tournament was held Aug. 23 at the Virginian Golf Club.

Platinum sponsors were BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and MedAssets. Gold sponsor was Emergency Coverage Corp. Silver sponsors were Aon,  CenturyLink, DeRoyal, Gresham, Smith & Partners, Interior Concepts, KPMG, MCA Administrators, PivotHealth, Simplex Grinnell, Teleoptics, UnitedHealthcare and Workspace Interiors.

“We greatly appreciate the support of our sponsors and everyone else who participated in this important event,” said Todd Norris, executive director of the Wellmont Foundation. “The funds from this tournament will enable Wellmont hospitals to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to the children we serve.”

Wellmont serves as the affiliate of Children’s Miracle Network for Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. All money raised in the Tri-Cities region stays here to provide medical equipment, services and treatment to children at Wellmont hospitals and their centers for babies and children.
