A traffic stop in Washington County, Virginia resulted in the arrest of two men yesterday.
Officials report they seized methamphetamine, marijuana, various drug paraphernalia and a fully loaded .22 caliber pistol.
According to Washington County Sheriff Fred Newman, Deputy Erik Hinchey stopped the vehicle during a traffic checking detail late Thursday evening.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a fully loaded .22 caliber pistol were located.
Stephen Arthur Blevins, age 45, of 68 Firehouse Road, Whitetop, VA, was arrested and has been charged with (1) driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; (2) possession of marijuana; (3) possession of methamphetamine; (4) possession of a concealed weapon; and (5) possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule I or II narcotic drug. Blevins is currently being held in the Abingdon Facility of the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail on a $2500 secured bond.
Joseph Scott Rouse, age 25, of 36317 Barrtown Road, Glade Spring, VA, a passenger in the pickup truck, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and public intoxication. Rouse was released on a personal recognizance bond.
