On Friday, September 3rd, 11 Connects WJHL-TV will begin a month-long transition to a new state-of-the-art studio with local broadcasts in high-definition. The new "look" is set to debut the first week of October.
Studio designers will demolish the WJHL-TV studio and construct a state-of-the-art broadcast center inside the station's long-time headquarters in downtown Johnson City, Tennessee.
The renovation comes after months of planning and represents a major investment by Media General, WJHL's parent company, in the Tri-Cities Region.
During the studio renovation, technicians will complete the behind-the-scene technical upgrade to HD broadcast equipment.
Play the video box for a look at what's planned. And stay tuned for updates on the renovation and switch to HD on 11 Connects and on TriCities.Com.
