Jonesborough man files suit over red-light camera ticket dispute

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A Jonesborough man who says he is being double billed for a red-light camera speeding ticket his wife received is suing the town of Jonesborough and the company who maintains the cameras.

Skip Church said his wife got a red-light camera ticket back in November and paid the ticket the same month. He has since received notice that he has not paid the ticket and will soon be turned over to a collection agency.

Church spent hours of his own time trying to correct the problem and even sent Redflex, the company that maintains Jonesborough's cameras, an invoice for his lost time and effort. Church said that as of today that invoice has not been paid.

Church is now filing a lawsuit against Jonesborough and Redflex for $24,000 in compensation.

Church's attorney Richard Phillips has yet to serve Jonesborough and Redflex with the suit although he said a court date has been set for June 11.
