BMS crash sends legends drivers to hospital

UPDATE 8:11 p.m. According to officials with Bristol Motor Speedway Charlie Glotzbach is listed in good condition. Larry Pearson undergoing evaluation after this evening's wreck during the Scotts EZ Showdown.

This afternoon's 35-lap Scotts EZ Showdown at Bristol Motor Speedway for retired NASCAR drivers was marred by a vicious crash on lap 30, involving Larry Pearson and Charlie Glotzbach.
After Pearson spun in Turn 2, his car was T-boned in the driver’s side by the car driven by Charlie Glotzbach.
The race, eventually won by Rick Wilson, was halted for more than 15 minutes as rescue personnel responded to the scene. Both drivers were transported to the Bristol Regional Medical Center.
According to media reports, Pearson was knocked unconscious by the impact. Glotzbach, 71, was able to limp away from the scene.
Pearson is the son of NASCAR legend David Pearson.
