Sullivan Co., Tenn. -- A former top-ten most-wanted fugitive appeared in Sullivan County court this morning.
Juwaunne "Shorty" Massey was apprehended in Baltimore this past fall. He's the last of the group of about ten involved in the shooting a Kingsport shop owner and his customer in the back of Sole candle shop nearly 4 years ago.
Today in court, the District Attorney's office announced that the state may motion to try Massey, and another defendant, Leslie Ware, together.
Both defendants are charged with first degree murder and drug conspiracy, and there may also be a motion to combine those charges for the trial. Judge Jerry Beck did not rule on either today.
The judge did set a June 30, 2010 date for Massey's defense to file their pre-trial motions. Those motions will be heard in court on August 9.
