The Lady Greene Devils long trek to the State Basketball Championship, entered its final leg this morning. As the team filed through a rowdy student body, before finally getting out to the bus, that will take them to Tennessee's version of the "Elite Eight"
For two of the Lady Greene Devils, this is their last shot at high school basketball glory.
"Its a good feeling. I am ready to go, and we are going to win!", said Senior Brianna Kelley.
According to fellow Senior Morgan Shipley, "Everybody's ready for us to win, and hopefully bring home a gold ball!"
It wasn't just the student body cheering as the team prepared to leave. The entire community of Greeneville has backed-up this team all season long. "Especially with three schools making it...South Greene and North Greene and us. You see signs around town, we got a lot of people coming out to see the girls off, so it's a good thing, and I think that support has helped us through the year." Said Greeneville Head Coach Stacia Crumbley.
The cheering is done, and now the real work will begin for the Lady Greene Devils, as they take on McMinn Central Thursday in Murfreesboro.
