The Hawkins County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible case of animal cruelty after two men found a half dozen dead puppies in a creek. According to a police report filed Tuesday, the men found the German Shepherd mix puppies in bags in the creek along Caldwell Road. According to the report, the puppies belonged to Allen and David Sellers.
"The Sellers had a German Shepherd female dog that had pups," Ed Cradic said of his neighbors. Cradic's son found the dead animals on his property. "The Sellers kept one of the pups and the rest had not been seen for a few weeks."
Despite that statement, Hawkins County Sheriff Roger Christian says investigators are still not sure who the animals belong to.
"We are just getting the investigation started," Christian said.
The Sellers could not be reached for comment.
