Johnson City man arrested for alleged February assault

A Johnson City man will appear in court today. Police say his arrest stems from an alleged assault last month.

Johnson City Police arrested Jason Kelley, 29, Johnson City, on Monday.

Police say an investigation revealed he threatened a female with a knife in February and fled the scene before officers arrived. According to police, Kelley has a warrant for his arrest in North Carolina for Violation of Probation; a Burglary warrant out of Smyth County, Virginia and a Theft warrant in Johnson City.

Police charged Kelley with being a Fugitive From Justice, Aggravated Assault, Theft of Property Under $500 and Evading Arrest.

Kelley is set to appear in court today at 9 a.m.
