A Church Hill man faces multiple charges, after police say he got drunk and fired a gun about 20 times at his own mother. Brian Dale Vleminckx of Church Hill was arrested Sunday at his residence on Sturbridge Lane. According to the Kingsport Times-News, a police report says Vleminckx was arguing with his mother about a number of things, including his dog getting loose. The paper reports that Vleminckx's neighbor is a Church Hill policeman, Greg Larkins. Larkins told investigating Officer Dustin Dean that Sunday afternoon, Vleminckx began discharging a firearm toward various locations close to his mother and Larkins’ home. The report says that Dean Vleminckx was disarmed by local officers, and a 9 millimeter handgun was recovered with three clips. Dean said one of the clips was empty, one contained only two rounds, and one was full. The 32 year old man resisted arrest and had to be restrained by officers. Vleminckx faces charges of felony reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm by an intoxicated person, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.
