Citizens should read, know Constitution

»  Comments | Post a Comment

How long has it been since you read the owner’s manual of the USA?
“What’s that?” you ask. It’s called the United States Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights. Employees of the federal government and many of state governments take an oath to protect and abide by it. Ask them how long it has been since they read and applied it. Police officers and military personnel are the most important in carrying out this task.
The Constitution doesn’t give government the right to use your tax dollars to send troops to defend the governments of dictatorships, Saudi Arabia and the like. Yet, it does so – in spades!
One does not have to be specially trained to understand it. Anyone with normal intelligence can do so. It was written for ordinary working people to understand. It’s not outdated. Principles don’t change. You’ll find that government constantly violates it. The purpose of the Constitution is not to regulate individuals nearly as much as to restrain government, to protect your natural liberty.
Reread the Bill of Rights, especially the Ninth and Tenth Amendments. Violations of the Constitution by Uncle Samuel are the major cause of our high unemployment rate and of the hyperinflation of prices that is going to hit, probably within a year.
Prior to 1913, when the Federal Reserve Act was passed, there was negligible government meddling in the economy. Per capita income in the USA rose to be the highest in the world. Unemployment was barely one percent in 1913 – mostly because people were between jobs voluntarily, including moving westward and because a few immigrants hadn’t yet found work after they’d arrived.
Today most professional economists estimate “normal unemployment” to be 4 percent, possibly more. Why? Government constantly violates the Constitution and, as a by-product, distorts the economy.
