I want to congratulate the Bristol Herald Courier for the recent run of human interest stories. I particularly enjoyed reading about the Bristol roofing company donating its time and resources to help Haiti; the reunion between a sweet, hardworking man and his loyal companion; and Read Across America Day, which showcased a wonderful teacher and a fifth-grader to encourage reading.
Even the sad and unfortunate story of a home fire in Abingdon could prompt people to help those who need it.
Bristol is a wonderful place to live and our newspaper can be a source of encouragement during these stressful times, plus a means of keeping us informed about our neighbors near and far.
Reporting in this vein could eliminate any negative chatter about our paper. Keep up the good reporting!
