Bristol Virginia Police Department

* A Goode Street business owner called police to say five homeless men were standing in front of his building, adding that “two of them ... [were exposing themselves and] using the bathroom.” They were arrested.

* A woman called from Lee Highway to report a blue Subaru “almost hit her twice and ran a red light” at 10:45 p.m.
March 2
* Several drunken fellows decided a little patch of Moore Street “directly across from the police department” was the ideal place to get into a tussle that involved “rolling down steps” just before midnight.
* A Commonwealth Avenue hairdresser called to say that while “putting a perm in [a woman’s] hair” at 8 p.m., the woman “passed out in the chair.” They added that “her husband or boyfriend is slumped over the wheel of their white Chevy Blazer.”

Bristol Tennessee Police Department
March 1

* Somebody chucked a cell phone at somebody else at a Bristol College Drive apartment, but police never figured out who did the throwing. Either way, a guy ended up locked out in the cold. First, the guy told police he’d broken up with his girlfriend then she got mad, threw his cell phone at him and locked him out of the apartment. But the woman said the pair had been drinking all day and got into an argument. When she called her mother to pick her up, he got mad and threw her phone at her. That’s when she locked him out of the apartment. Fortunately for all, “the cell phone did not appear to be damaged.”
* A Bay Street man sold a paint ball gun on eBay for $410. The guy who bought it told him, via e-mail, that he was sending a check and he was to cash it, keep his $410, “then send the remaining amount to him.” A check for $2,850 arrived. The man took it to his bank, where he learned it was fake.
* Someone called from 14th Street when a person “knocked on the door and then left the area.”

Neighborhood Watch
* The Croweville and Glade Spring Neighborhood Watch will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at 110 Town Square in Glade Spring, Va.
* They Hayters Gap Neighborhood Watch will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Clinch Mountain Fire Department in Abingdon.

Editor’s note: The Bristol Blotter is a sampling of activity from the logs and reports of the two city police departments.
