July 25
- Somebody called from Second Street to report a person on the “phone and texting all the time after being told to stop.”
- Police arrested a man at a Commonwealth Avenue gas station who was reportedly drunk, “could barely walk or stand up, also has a baby in the car.”
- After getting fired “for being drunk on the job,” a guy with long blond hair and a mustache got himself arrested “behind the dumpster” at the Sullins Street restaurant for “throwing a fit, kicking the dumpster and refusing to leave.”
July 26
- A skinny man was seen “waving a knife” at a pregnant lady on the west side of town.
- Somebody called from a Midway Street parking lot to report a couple and their little kid in a green Ford Ranger and the man “put the female out and she is walking in the parking lot, he is following her and is irate.”

July 27
- A woman told police that her landlord “called her six times and accused her of stealing his computer.” Since “he has been threatening her,” she “has had her number changed on her cell phone and hopes he that he will stop calling her.”
- When a couple arrived for a house tour on Moncier Circle, the key was in the door so they presumed the homeowner was inside. But as they opened the door, “the alarm went off.” The homeowner arrived and “did not know there was an alarm in the residence and advised that the former tenant must have had it put in.”
- A woman stopped by the police station to report “possible harassment by another female” and requested a report be made “to show it was a retaliation thing.”
July 18
- Police went to Dover Lane and “spoke with a male subject who had gotten in an argument with his mother.”

Events
- The Washington County Virginia Sheriff’s Office and Boy Scout Troop 222 will host a Children’s Bike Rodeo from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the back parking lot of the Abingdon United Methodist Church on Main Street in Abingdon, Va. Deputies will be on hand to provide information on bicycle safety and inspect helmets and bicycles.
- The Bristol Virginia Police Department is participating in the 27th annual National Night Out, a city-wide block party “designed to send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.” At 6 p.m. Tuesday, neighborhood watch groups will host cookouts with food and prizes on Solar Street, at Monarc Circle Townhomes on King Mill Pike, Ridgecrest Apartments on Heritage Drive, Little Mosby’s courtyard on Clinton Avenue, Carriage Hill Townhomes on Lee Highway and Leisure Park Towers on Moore Street. “If your block does not yet have a Neighborhood Watch group, they are still encouraged to turn on their porch lights and have their own event on their front porch or lawn to help send an even louder message that good citizens are not going to tolerate crime in their neighborhoods,” police said.
