Bristol Tennessee Police Department

July 25

An officer noticed a “silver low-rider Mazda pickup” driving along the road “emitting smoke from the muffler.” Police stopped the car and learned the driver’s license was revoked for a previous DUI. Also, he had a “switchblade knife and had switched the tags on the vehicle.” So the guy driving the flamboyant, smoking truck without a license and while carrying illegal weapons got arrested.

* Police went to Taylor Street “in reference to a possibly intoxicated male sleeping under a tree.” He was arrested.

Bristol Virginia Police Department

* A woman called to say she was near a pizza joint on Lee Highway “parking up from a yard sale” at 5:30 p.m. with a woman “standing and screaming at her.”

* A guy called for police when he got home from work and found “a brand new scooter on his back porch.”

* Somebody on Stardust Place reported that a “barking dog” was being “a nuisance to the neighbors.”

* A woman called at 1:15 a.m. to say her “ex-husband keeps driving by and throwing stuff out and squealing tires.”

* A Mary Street woman called police to say she was “shaken up by a shiny maroon” Acura sedan that followed her home. The driver, an old fat lady with gray hair, reportedly “kept asking if she needed a ride.” Dispatch noted that “she seemed to think it might have been a male dressed like a female,” which “just freaked her out.”

* Police arrested a guy found “passed out drunk” in a Highland Avenue driveway.
