The new Crooked Road Tech Center in Duffield, Virginia officially opened on Tuesday.
"This sets us up for technology and we are ready for those technology businesses. We have product now for technology based companies for researched based companies right here in Duffield," said John Kilgore, Director of Scott County Economic Development.
The 5.9 million dollar facility was funded by the Virginia Tobacco Commission is expected to create around 140 jobs.
"Having a facility like this really is critical to your ability to attract new business industry and jobs and in this case technology jobs," said Virginia Lt. Governor William Bolling.
Scott County officials are counting on the tech centers location and available technology to attract businesses to Duffield.
