Boil water notices removed in most areas of Buchanan County

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Except in the areas served through the Fletcher’s Ridge Pump Stations and Tank and the Breaks/Grassy Creek Area, the Boil Water Notice has been removed by the Virginia Department of Health’s Office of Water Programs as of 12:30 p.m., January 1.

According to the Buchanan County Public Service Authority, the water has been sampled according to the requirements set forth by that office.

A press release today states: "the levels of chlorine are higher than usual in most areas and will begin to normalize as time passes. Some areas are noticing the results of air trapped in the lines and water; this condition will also improve over the next few days."

As service is restored in the areas supplied through the Fletcher’s Ridge Pump Stations and Tank and the Breaks/Grassy Creek areas, the water will be monitored and tested to the same standard.
