Kingsport Police Detective's said that Womack was threatening to come forward with allegations of a relationship that occurred between he, and McCoy, while Womack was still a juvenile.

After McCoy contacted the police, a "sting" operation was set up, after detectives recorded a phone conversation between Womack and McCoy. McCoy agreed to meet Womack at the Pal's location on Revere Street in Kingsport to give him the money he requested.

McCoy wore a wire to the meeting, and police arrested Womack as soon as the money changed hands.

Womack is currently in the Sullivan County Jail, and is facing a preliminary hearing in March.
