* Someone reported a Ford Taurus driving 90 mph on Texas Avenue. Officers did not find the reckless driver.
* While en route to meet a person who found a purse on the street, an officer spotted two women “on the side of the road looking for something.” The woman and her purse were reunited.
* Someone found a syringe that “still has stuff in it” outside a Bristol Mall store at 7:20 p.m.
* The driver of a maroon Ford Astro was “shining some type of red laser” from the van.
* A woman called from a city five hours away to say that she “received word that her 22-year-old daughter is being assaulted” on Portsmouth Avenue. About five minutes later, police found the young woman to be OK and “calling her mother now.”

n After his girlfriend caught him cheating on her, a Second Street man locked the girlfriend out of their apartment.

Dec. 27
* A Florida Avenue woman’s ex-boyfriend followed her home “in an attempt to reconcile their relationship.” She called the police, who told the man to stay away.
* Police went to Valley Drive, where a woman was angry that her grandson “fed his friend who was there instead of feeding her.” The grandson “agreed to feed her” and the grandmother, in exchange, agreed to allow the friend to stay overnight.
Dec. 28
* Someone called police when their “vehicle was stuck by a large rock” as they drove along Raytheon Road just before midnight.
Neighborhood Watch
* The Bursons Corner Neighborhood Watch will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at the Goodson-Kinderhood Volunteer Fire Department on Benhams Road in Bristol, Va.
