When it comes to helping people in Haiti every penny still counts. Even the youngest people in the community seem to understand that. Monday morning, students at West View School in Washington County, TN did their part to help Haiti. Thanks to efforts by members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the school raised $600 for Haiti relief. The money will help buy food and water for those in need.

"I've seen a lot of homeless people on the news and stuff," West View student James Allen said. "I just hope it goes to them. I expected $400-500, but $600? I'm really proud of my school."

During a school assembly, Allen, along with classmates Ronnie Hensley and Tyler Honeycutt, presented the money raised to a representative of the Holston Baptist Association. The group says it will mail the donation directly to its crews on the ground in Haiti.
