A Jonesborough man has been arrested after an investigation into allegations that he had inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile. Washington County, TN investigators arrested Steven J. Sutherland, age 41, of Jonesborough, and charged him with Rape of a Child, Incest, and 8 counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery. The charges were the result of an investigation by the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Children Services, in which Sutherland and witnesses were interviewed.
Sutherland is being housed at the Washington County Detention Center under a $500,000 bond. He is scheduled for arraignment this morning in Washington County Sessions Court.
