Kingsport, Tenn. -- Even though the Tri-Cities region had a mostly rainy Friday, snow is expected to come back. As we've seen this winter, with snow, comes some freezing outdoor fun. Some of that fun, however, may be hampered by injury. Wellmont emergency room doctor, Chip Backus has seen his share bumps, bruises, and breaks from sledding related accidents. He suggests people stay aware of their surroundings while making trips down hill; sled in open areas; avoid roads and stationary objects like trees and buildings, and wear a helmet. It's important to remain alert; don't drink alcohol while sledding, and try not to have more than one person on a sled at a time. Using caution to avoid these risks lessens the possibility of injury.
