11 Connects has learned a deputy from the Scott County Sheriff's Office was shot twice. According to investigators, someone shot the deputy in the chest and shoulder.

11 Connects has breaking news tonight from Scott County, Virginia.
Someone shot a law enforcement officer near Clinchport, Virginia, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said the shooting happened near the intersection of Daniel Boone Highway and County Road 600. Sources close to the investigation tell 11 Connects a Scott County Sheriff's Deputy was shot at a nearby home.
According to the Sheriff's Office , emergency crews airlifted the deputy to an area hospital. Nobody is in custody at this point, according to deputies.
