Former President George W. Bush will make an appearance Sept. 24 at a fundraiser at the Olde Farm in Bristol, Va.
The event will benefit the Appalachian College of Pharmacy and the Appalachian School of Law, both in Buchanan County, according to a news release issued by the College of Pharmacy.
Following a dinner, Bush, 64, a Republican, will speak about his presidency, from 2001-2009.
Virginia Delegate Terry G. Kilgore, dean of institutional advancement at the College of Pharmacy, said in the news release that “we are pleased and excited to have
a person of President Bush’s stature and background appearing at a benefit on behalf of the
schools.”
After leaving office, Bush returned to his home in Texas, where he has been
working on his memoir, “Decision Points,” which will be published in November.
