Renters who lost everything in the Miller Crest apartment fire are slowly starting to put their lives back together.
With the help of donations from friends, strangers and local businesses they have the basic necessities like clean clothing, food and soap, along with beds to sleep in.
But now they're starting to move forward. Last night, they gathered at Miller Crest to hear what will happen next.
"Just to answer the residents questions about what's going to happen to the building, their belongings that are still in the building, how they can get those," said Cindy Williams, regional manager for Brookside Properties, the company that owns Miller Crest.
The fire department has to yet to release the building back to Miller Crest. When it does, the property managers hope to rebuild.
Miller Crest did not make the fire victims pay rent for August and has relocated the people who lived in roughly eight units to other apartments in the complex.
