Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee needs help from the community to win a truckload of food.
The Food Bank is currently in second place in the National Food Bank competition and asks everyone in the eight-county Northeast Tennessee region to help by visiting hungeraction.org by September 30 and show their commitment to helping end hunger. It is a very close competition with several food banks right behind Northeast Tennessee.
EARN MINUTES for every action you take against hunger!
Through Hunger Action Month advocacy program, Feeding America Food Banks are asking the public to give us their voice in support of public policy solutions to hunger. During Hunger Action Month, we hope to recruit new advocates in the fight against hunger, educate the public about the role of advocacy in our hunger relief efforts, and deliver meaningful actions in support of child nutrition programs. The community can help us accomplish these goals by becoming an active advocate during Hunger Action Month. For every action that is taken, the food bank earns minutes. The food banks with the most accumulated advocate minutes at the end of September will win a truckload of food from Kraft Foods
The Food Bank is asking individuals and groups from the community to get involved in solving the issue of hunger in our region by visiting the hunger action center website. For more information contact the Food Bank at (423)477-4053.
