I would like to take this opportunity to thank the town of Marion and its employees who gave so much help during a block party held at Riverbend Park on Aug. 8.
We invited people to the park, gave away free ice cream and free drinks, had gospel music and games for children.
The park was immaculate and such a beautiful setting. If you have never visited there, you have definitely missed a treat.
Marion helped in every way – everyone from the mayor, town manager, police chief, fire chief, the secretaries and members of each ones’ crew responded to give whatever help was needed.
What a joy to serve the people in the neighborhood of the park, hand in hand with these very giving people. There was a group from the Eastern Shore of Virginia that came to help and walked twice a day praying over the surrounding neighborhoods. They were in awe of this beautiful part of Virginia and amazed by the service of the town of Marion.
Keep it up, guys. Maybe this enthusiasm will spread throughout the state. A very special thanks to Ken Heath for all his help.
